The Latest: New Website! • Upcoming Podcast • Local Resources
(First, a note that this newsletter is for both June and July. You can expect the August newsletter to come out at the very end of July. Just catching up with myself so that newsletters come out at useful times. -JB)
Thanks for being here! Everyday Folkways is a local resource in support of everyday folks turning to skills and activities to meet their everyday needs. Every month, we host a project circle and publish this newsletter, connecting the community with skills, resources, and events.
What’s been going on:
This month, I’ve been focused on getting a new website up and running, and I’m excited about it! Go check it out at everydayfolkways.wordpress.com for now, and at everydayfolkways.org starting later in July. Once the switch is made, the old address will still work, too. Don’t sweat it!
The new website puts everything in one place, highlighting the larger resource that is Everyday Folkways. There, you can find information about our regular project circle; an archive of both our podcasts and newsletters; a local resource hub; and a new community calendar! The calendar and resource hub are both set up to receive suggestions for additional resources that you might know about. Try it all out!
Finally, the Substack will continue to host the podcasts, but everything else is migrating over to this one site. And so if you want to keep in touch and continue to receive newsletters, go check out the site and sign up for the newsletter there! Or just submit your email right here if you’re lazy. Eventually, I’ll quit sending out direct emails with newsletter links, so if you don’t want to be left behind, subscribe like an official fan.
All of that’s been most of this month for me! We of course had our project circle last Saturday, and we had a good ol’ time. As always, come join us on the last Saturday of the month, July 25th at 10:30 at Nature Nurture Farmacy.
Upcoming: EF Podcast 03 | Chicken Holiday
“Don’t touch that dial!” Leave it tuned to the podcast this July. I’m excited to be participating in a local farmer’s ‘Chicken Holiday’ in the coming week, and I’ll get a chance to sit down with her later in the month for an interview. It will be eventful, and I’m excited to learn a lot! I’ll keep you in suspense for now, but here’s some relevant content to keep you entertained in the interim:
